2020 Youth Solo Competition
Wild Rivers Symphony is committed to providing quality music and inspiration to its coastal southern Oregon and northern California communities and supporting the next generation of young musicians to learn and grow. To support that goal, the Symphony is excited to announce a new 2020 Youth Solo Competition. Young musicians are invited to compete for a chance to be featured in a masterful solo performance alongside the Symphony! The grand prize winners may perform with the Wild Rivers Symphony at one of its spring or winter 2020 concerts.
The competition will be divided into the following categories:
To enter, you must submit an entry application to the Wild Rivers Symphony office no later than Friday, December 6, 2019 (postmarked). Both physical and electronic submissions are accepted.

Competition auditions will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at the Del Norte High School Music Room (1301 El Dorado Street, Crescent City, CA).
Judges may select winners in each division. From the division winners, the judges may select one or two grand prize winners to perform with the Wild Rivers Symphony at one of its 2020 spring or winter concerts. Performing in the Wild Rivers Symphony’s Solo Competition is considered a tremendous honor; all performers will be recognized for their hard work and dedication. Certificates of recognition may be given at the judges' discretion. One winner may be selected from each division. The grand prize winner may perform with the Wild Rivers Symphony.
Judges have the discretion to select no winners in any division, or no grand prize winner, if the performances are not deemed ready or appropriate for the concert series.

- Junior Division: Age 13 or younger at the time of the competition
- Senior Division: Age 14 through those who will graduate from high school in 2020
- College Division: Enrolled in Humboldt State University, Southern Oregon University, College of the Redwoods, or Southwestern Oregon Community College.
